With all three standings leaders picking up doubleheader wins, the Calgary Inferno, Les Canadiennes, and Kunlun Red Star pulled away from the rest of the pack to continue a three-way tie atop the CWHL.
The Kunlun Red Star impressed as they welcomed their first American opponent to Shenzhen, China in a doubleheader with the visiting Boston Blades. The Red Star picked up their eighth and ninth consecutive wins, outshooting the Blades 48-11 in an impressive Saturday night win, before also claiming victory in a much tougher Sunday night tilt. Kunlun scoring sensation Kelli Stack took over the CWHL scoring lead, adding three points (2 G, 1 A) from the weekend to her now league-leading 22 points (17 G, 5 A). Fellow forward Shiann Darkangelo also impressed with a Sunday night hat trick for the Red Star. Blades forward Chelsey Goldberg displayed a scoring touch, notching two second period goals in quick succession in Boston’s Saturday night loss, while goaltender Lauren Dahm once again posted a number of spectacular saves, totalling 63 saves in the two-game series.
